Another Martin Luther King day-Now what?

It’s 12:01 AM – another memorial day gone for a humanitarian hero for another year.

Will what he stood for and died for live on, or take hold, or are we just going to continue on and bring up the topic again next year?
Let’s stop mere annual recognition and start clear volition.
Give peace a chance – Peace without pieces.

A SIGN OF THE TIMES

A SIGN OF THE TIMES..
Every Church – every Temple – with every name – in every city.
It’s not a building or groups of people that like themselves.
It’s a verb – Be the Church – the called out ones. Go for it.IMG_20160416_173907319_HDR1

What part of your house do people see

They drive by a house in their expensive car, gazing at the beauty of  the slate roof, the spotless sandy brick, the paned custom windows and the  red steel door – polished like their car, faced with a brass framed, leaded glass storm door.  They comment  to each other about the wealthy appeal of  the home and keep on driving. Did they see the gutters? No.. Did they even think that without them, there would be water spots and paint stains running all the way down the house and the garden in the front would have a trench from the water that eroded it, from a lack of direction? No..  The least expensive, most ignored part of the house, keeps it looking the best. Some people only notice the best, rather than the source of its preservation. Gutters collect and direct the abundance of rain that gathers at the top, down the spout and out into the world.
We can learn from the gutters, in that we should also pour out the abundance that God pours upon us – out into the world, even when we’re at the top. The effect of  not collecting and directing this abundance poured upon us, will only bring the erosion of our purpose here. Maintaining continuous flow and direction, eliminates clogs and blocks.

Are people only seeing the good parts of your house or the parts of your house that are doing good.  Don’t idolize your parts – utilize them.

Your body (house) is a temple of the living God and from you will pour rivers of living water.      (1 Corinthians 6:19 – 2 Corinthians 6:16 – John 7:38 –  Isaiah 58:11)

It’s time to listen for a whisper

Are you listening?

Have you ever heard in your spirit, the Lord asking you a question?  How did you respond?

We know that He already knows the answer before He asks the question.

To me, this means that God is seeking the answer within our heart, though not

for Him to hear, but for us to hear our own heart before God.

Elijah, the great prophet of God, became fearful for his life and hid away. He had forgotten his

protector and as it sounds to me, he became anxious and depressed.

He fell victim to his own flesh, and like Peter, who “looked down at the water” started to sink..

He wanted God to let him die, but God had more for him. Elijah was then awakened by an Angel of the Lord who reassured him:

“You’re not finished yet.He traveled forty days to the mountain of the Lord on one meal the Angel had given him .

Once there and hidden in a cave, the Lord asks Elijah:

“What are you doing here?” Then Elijah, letting go of his “prophetic reigns” and caving in to his weakened flesh, says:

“I’m looking for You, because I am alone and useless and they are going to kill me.”

God said to him: “Come out here – the Lord is going to pass by.”

The Lord shows His power in wind, quake and fire,  but Elijah  doesn’t respond to it . He’s intimidated.

The Lord then speaks to him in a still, small voice and Elijah humbles himself and comes out of the cave.

The spirit is strong, but the flesh is weak. Elijah had lost touch with his spirit and was weak in his flesh, but God didn’t lose touch with him..

God didn’t chasten him either.  He still provided for him and guided him. I believe that God tried to revive Elijah by showing His power to him,

but Elijah was anxious and afraid.  Even though Elijah had become weak, God was still able to use him again and even answer the  plea of  his heart.

God knows that in our flesh and emotion ,we can fear such a show of power.

So God, in His Love, whispers to us, so we must draw near to Him and hear His still, small voice.

Have you ever felt useless or alone? God is still with you.

Have you ever felt like you want to die? God is still with you.

When you feel like this, don’t allow lying, deceiving  spirits to dissuade  you.

Persevere, God is still with you.

Submit yourself to God, resist the devil and he will flee. Raise up a standard against the enemy and proclaim:

“God has a use for me- even in my weakness.” If you’re not sure what it is, ask God to show you.

Don’t  wait for the power of God to come like a mighty wind, earthquake or blazing fire – reviving you and knocking you down.

It’s time to listen for a whisper….that still-small voice that

causes you to draw near to Him, so He may draw near to you..

Read the following verses that God inspired me to write, concerning Elijah and me.

“In a whisper”                  1 Kings 19:11

God spoke – to Elijah in a whisper

Not by wind – not by fire – in a whisper

He will   lead you by still water

Follow Him – trust in Him – you will see

Jesus calmed the stormy water

With His voice- Peace be still – Peace be still

Are you listening for a whisper

Just draw near- near to Him -you will hear

Hearing Him- not the wind- in a whisper

Listen for a whisper

A voice that draws you near

Move a little closer

Closer so you hear

You won’t hear crashing thunder

Or see a blazing flame

Only Holy Passion

When Jesus says your name

In a whisper- In a whisper

Love of God – calling you

In a whisper

Not by wind – not by fire

In a whisper

Peace be still

In a whisper – In a whisper

Are you listening?

Help free the children from sex slavery

Twenty tears ago, I wrote an editorial to my local paper, as I was appalled by what I had read about child sexual abuse. Through the years, up to the present,

I wrote a song, pleading to God to save the children, attended a conference concerning human trafficking and child sexual abuse, viewed several documentaries about it,

then wrote a couple of blogs on the subject. The problem hasn’t gotten any better but worse.

Today I saw a show addressing the issue which had actual victims and a phone conversation with an imprisoned man who was  found guilty of selling children for sex, one of which was given by the parents.

The man didn’t deny that he did it and said he was wrong –  asking forgiveness. He then attempted to dodge questions by saying that the girl in question was not 14 years old but

16 and that he didn’t beat her (badly? ) The woman showed scars on her body.  He said he wasn’t a (bad) pimp but just a pimp. The interviewer hung up the phone.

A detective present at the show stated that they try to help the girls, rather than arrest them and that the people guilty of selling children for sex aren’t caught or go to trial because apparently there is no law against

free enterprise or selling whatever you want to – including children. The detective stated that the problem is so large now, that the focus is more on just rescuing the children, not prosecuting the crime.

Pennsylvania, the state I live in, was highlighted as one of the worst states for child sex crimes.  Since the time of Moses and probably before, children have been targeted, abused, victimized, sacrificed  and killed.

Apparently some people, the government and even the parents don’t care. Children are cast out into the desert to be eaten by wolves and vultures who are  under the guise of being human.  People want sex – people want

money and  they don’t care how or who they get it from.

There are problems in the home, in the parenting, in discipline, in the legal system, in government, in the perverted hearts of the people who originate, sell and buy these human trafficking services that abuse and scar these

children for life. I am appalled that our governments , foreign and domestic along with the United nations don’t just step up and put an end to it. Who determines what is priority?

There is no time to discuss which political party will get the credit for stopping it – just stop it. It has nothing to do with Republican or Democratic, Foreign affairs or Religion or tradition. It has everything to do with freeing

innocent children from lust filled , money craving, evil people who will sell you if you give them the chance. There are private groups trying to help these children but there need to be laws enforced world-wide at a

governmental level. Children have rights as human beings and are supposed to be  protected by laws as minors. Yet it seems that some of the sellers have laws protecting them as being in free enterprise.

I say to that: “Free the children!”  I’m appalled that we even have to ask our governments about this, but would you please make an effort to communicate with your government officials concerning freeing children from sex

slavery and putting away the people who buy and sell children – before , God forbid, that someone tries to legalize it. God, save the children.. Thank you – the children will thank you.

The Father’s blessing – a father’s cursing. You are not a failure.

We are pardoned and exonerated by our Father God for our sins, and we forgive the sins of others.  Some of us though, struggle with being  released from the effect of the sins committed upon us.

Words from our natural fathers, linger in our brains.  Some of us may have  actual scars, embedded on our flesh, like a memorial date in bronze, that will never fade away.

Yet we must persevere and move forward each day.     Often the pain surfaces -you gasp for a  breath –  hold back the tears and keep walking.   Only the power of  forgiveness – for you and for another, causes  the memory to dissipate  the pain and let healing come forth.

Holding on to these memories , dwelling on the pain, replaying them at will, with bitterness, hatred and contempt, will never change anything or make you free.

Our heavenly Father has forgiven us and is not angry at us, nor is He replaying memories of our sin or our father’s sins. We should do likewise.

Sins of the fathers are passed down  through the generations. We are all products of our parents and their lack of parenting skills. It is not God’s desire that we live with this pain, rather a plague of  replaying events and  unforgiveness on our parts. Forgiveness is the only thing that breaks the cycle.

Some of us were  paralyzed by the words or actions of an earthly father who made us feel that we’re not good enough. Your Heavenly Father created you to be good enough. You’re not who your natural father  thinks you are.

You are who God says you are. In God’s eyes- through forgiveness, we’re in a place where we can’t do anything wrong – we were created to succeed. Though sometimes the effect of being paralyzed,  interferes with your ability to see yourself able to do anything right.

The key to freedom, is to honor your natural father but serve and  answer to your Heavenly Father. Your natural father, likewise has to follow and answer His Heavenly Father. If he wasn’t following or accountable

to God,  that was the source of the problem. You need to realize and look beyond that fault with forgiveness.

Your natural father, had or has  no insight or proof that you will be a failure.  Ultimately, being your father, if  he thinks you are a failure – how does that make him look – being  the one who raised you?

Why would any one bring  that upon themselves? Do you see  the effect that  this form of delusion and deception can have upon  people?  Someone’s  jealousy, pride and unfulfilled desires don’t make you a failure.

Conversely, someone projecting on to you to be a success by accomplishing their failures, won’t make you a success – only in making them feel better.

Do you grasp the curse –  the pattern – the poison – the dysfunction that is handed down through unforgiveness ?  Especially unforgiveness paired with jealousy or pride.

Failure is not when you don’t  meet another person’s standard of excellence – it’s when something doesn’t sync or reach completion.

The term: “Failure to communicate” is a perfect example. The solution being,  to attain communication or to inquire: “What will make our current dysfunction a success – what can we both or all agree upon?”

Simply making an effort, indicates that you’re not a failure.  When you do become successful,  you’ll be making your father a success by being a success,  by default – he is your father.

What is a success? Following God and doing His will,  makes your character a success, not titles or riches or possessions. Success lives in the heart and mind of a person.

If you do fail at something,  it’s only temporary, until you resolve it.  Realizing that you can fail at something and trying to improve it  nullifies a failure.

How can you be concerned about failing, to a Heavenly Father who doesn’t get angry at you or berate you, but picks you up when you fall?  God loves for us to admit our faults and seek Him for the answers or

finding peace through it.  Blessings lift us up – cursing puts us down. Which are you going to listen to?  Bless those who curse you.?

God  has commanded a blessing be spoken over you and has already spoken a blessing over you. Cursing is delivered by someone who isn’t following God and you are not subject to those curses – they are empty and useless.

You have the right to hear what you want to hear and believe what  you want to believe. Forgive.. Believe you are a success – believe the blessing..

Your only possible failure, would be the failure to believe that.  You will succeed.  I myself, am still working on it – and I’m succeeding at that.

Finding the time or place to rest

You will be surprised at how little that God requires from you, to give you a state of peace. He blesses your decision more than your action.

If you only have five minutes or five hours, He will quiet your soul and you can reflect on His response to your quietness throughout the day and hold on to that peace, all  day long.

Just know that He is your peace and that He is always there. You will find Him in all of the quiet things. Connect with the  flow of the clouds drifting by, the soft song of a bird, the gentle

flow of a stream flowing by. God is in all of them. The world screams at us – God whispers. Listen for the whisper.

Just by doing so, you’ll find yourself at rest and honoring God’s call to you and He will bless your soul and your heart for Him.  You will find rest.

Finding peace through the trials, is a much more useful method than trying to find peace by escaping the trials, as the trials will return but the peace will remain.  Peace to you..
