Another Martin Luther King day-Now what?

It’s 12:01 AM – another memorial day gone for a humanitarian hero for another year.

Will what he stood for and died for live on, or take hold, or are we just going to continue on and bring up the topic again next year?
Let’s stop mere annual recognition and start clear volition.
Give peace a chance – Peace without pieces.

A SIGN OF THE TIMES

A SIGN OF THE TIMES..
Every Church – every Temple – with every name – in every city.
It’s not a building or groups of people that like themselves.
It’s a verb – Be the Church – the called out ones. Go for it.IMG_20160416_173907319_HDR1

Option and Choice

Free From the journals – over two decades and thousands of pages

of writing for whatever reason, simply trying to convey inspiration

to others with what I have been inspired with.

Not really sharing who I was but who I am.

Normally, I’ve been posting a piece from the current date of years earlier.

Occasionally, I’ll just post something randomly.

Today, here’s one from 2008.  What I was vs What I am.  Thanks to the option and the choice that only God offers.

WHAT  I  WAS            VS                 WHAT I AM

Careless                                      Compassionate
Cruel                                            Merciful
Quick                                           Patient
Evasive                                        Empathetic
Rude                                            Kind
Fearful                                         Faithful
Fleshly                                         Spiritual
Defeated                                     Victorious
Victim                                         Dominion
Hateful                                        Loving
Battling                                       Peaceful
Captive                                       Free

Be a blessing not a curse
Be a living – loving verse
People will read you

Be inspired – be inspiring

What can I sacrifice?

“What can I sacrifice – when everything has been given to me?”
My greatest gain I count as loss – compared to Jesus on the cross.
Philippians 3:7 “However, what things were gain to me,
these have I counted loss for Christ.”
1 Timothy 6:6 “But godliness with contentment is great gain.”
Sacrifice your discontentment for Godliness.
I’m overwhelmed by the depth of His love.
He became a sacrifice for me. What can I sacrifice?

I’m Overwhelmed

I’m overwhelmed – by the depth of your love
and how much you give to me
I’m overwhelmed – by the price that you paid
and gave it to me for free

I’m so in awe of you – at times don’t know what to do
I’m overwhelmed – and I’m starting to see
that you’re overwhelmed with me

I’m overwhelmed – that your mercy endures
and your goodness is there for me

I’m overwhelmed – when my faithfulness fails
that your faith is still with me

I’m overwhelmed – You’re overwhelmed with me
So overwhelmed, that you’re a part of me
I’m overwhelmed – by the depth of your love
and how much you give to me

“Just Be”

ME

I can be just who I am and just ‘ be’ and that’s enough. Can anyone else just ‘ be’?
Sometimes all of the doing messes up our being. ME

Presence

Live in the present – In the presence of God

The present – like a gift – the gift of God

His presence is a gift.

Be content in all situations

For His presence is always there.

Don’t yield to the flesh

Surrender to God

Don’t let your flesh be your reward

Absence from the flesh, is presence with God.

Change is beautiful

Once as I looked up into the starry sky.

I realized that there was more than I can see.

The stars have been in place, before the first man ever saw them.

Forever and to this day -remaining the same.

They have never changed – they watch us change.

Do their shapes speak of the past or are they in shapes

of the things to come?

The seasons change, though they remind us that they will return –

the same – again and again.

Their change stays the same – what a beautiful change.

Change is beautiful.

God, who never changes, is beautiful.

He allows us to change.

One day, we’ll all be the same.
