My Favorite Iris

Nothing to to write – just wanted to say – that my favorite Iris bloomed today.

Nothing to write – that’s a lie. I just wanted to share my photo. Enjoy life..

How much  more do we need to read?

Back to the Garden

We have all been  planted in God’s garden here on Earth.  His garden has been the same for generations and will be for generations to come.

We can spend our time waiting for the rain to fall or we can dig our roots deep into the fertile soil that God has put us in.

There is water in the depths that will make us grow –  go deeper.  Enjoy your time here.

Listen  to God’s birds sing – they’ll sing to you for free.

Listen to the wind , blowing through the trees –  they play a song for you.

Listen to the joy and innocence of children playing – they’ll play with you.

Spend some time away from the television or computer screen and sit and watch the Sun set. Wake up early and watch the Sun rise.

Rest in the faith and joy that the Sun will rise again tomorrow, in God’s garden, where the Son has risen.

Back to the Garden

There is a Garden – a beautiful Garden

A Garden where you can go everyday

It’s there in the spirit – a pure heart is near it

A  Garden you’ll live in one day

Back to the Garden – where Jesus is waiting

He’s waiting to show you where you came to be

Waiting to be with you – waiting to walk with you

There in the cool of the day

Back to the Garden where nothing is hidden

Where all that we needed was there on a tree

A tree that turned sinfulness into salvation

Back to the Garden of Eden

So come back to the Garden – where Jesus is waiting

He’s waiting to show you where you came to be

Waiting to be with you – waiting to walk with you

There in the cool of the day

A Garden of fragrances – Aromas of promises

Aromas that lead you to words you should pray

Your heart beats are dances – your spirit romances

The songs that the Garden of fragrances plays

Back to the Garden where nothing is hidden

Where all that we needed was there on a tree

A tree that turned sinfulness into salvation

Back to the Garden of Eden

“God, You love me”

I sleep and You love me

I wake and You love me

I call and You love me

I fall and You love me

I try and You love me

I cry and You love me

I’m hopeless, You love me

I’m faithless, You love me

God, You love me

Just as I am

Still alive at 55

Wow! What a beautiful day. It’s 75 degrees in Pennsylvania. I took my second bicycle ride of the year today, after riding on my bike machine  and lifting weights all winter.

As soon as I got home from work, I put on my biking stuff and put my Ipod on my favorite music and took off. The sights were awesome; Daffodils in full bloom, Forsythia bushes, the smell of cut grass, the comical sight of untanned- hairy legs of men in shorts, in their yards.

My favorite was the little kids with their puppies and all their friends playing with them.

My route took me by my childhood house and neighborhood. The houses look the same but  all of the trees are gone – except the big old evergreen that we used to hide and play under, though now it has been cropped up about ten feet. I rode under the horseshoe-shaped bridge that’s been there as far back as I can remember. The echo never disappears.

I yelled, halleluia! I used to beep my horn – it’s irresistible. I wonder if all the yells and  beeps of car horns get absorbed in there forever, waiting to all come out some day at the same time. What a symphony that would be.

Bicycle riding has been a favorite activity of mine since I was about 25.  I’m 55 now, but I feel 25 when I ride, though I reminisce like I’m 55.  I’m just happy I can still ride like I’m 25 and that I’m still alive at 55.  I just wanted to share my wonderful  day with you.

As always, I hope this and the rest of the writing I share, is an inspiration to you.

Winter has passed – Springtime has come!

The Winter has passed and the Springtime has come.  (paraphrased)  Song of Solomon 2:11

Let us acknowledge God. Let us press on to know God.  As surely as the sun rises, God will appear. He will come to us like the rain, Like the spring rain that waters the earth.”  Hosea 6:3

For as the earth brings forth its bud, and as the garden causes the things that are sown in it to spring forth; so the Lord Yahweh will cause righteousness and praise to spring forth before all the nations.  Isaiah 61:11

Let the Lord our God do a new thing – this Spring

Celebrate new life let God love you.

Farewell to Spring a reflection of a 2009 Psalmistry

I’m reflecting on writings from this day last year:

The rain is still  falling, it’s been raining a lot this Spring. I love the rain. For me, there is something deeply spiritual and Holy about it. The coolness on my face, the soft sounds in my ears. Rain is such a marvelous blessing from God.  He conducts the rain’s symphony.

“Symphony of the rain”

When I feel the rain upon my face

I feel Your mercy and Your grace

As the rain falls all around me

The countless sounds surround me

The sound of the rain’s symphony

Lord, it’s Your majesty

The leaves of the trees become instruments

As the raindrops play their song

A melody from Heaven, rains on and on and on

The softest song I’ve ever heard

Rain falling through the trees

Unlike a song you can only hear

God lets this song be seen

The drops of rain that sound surreal

A song that Heaven lets me feel

As the rain falls all around me

The countless music surrounds me

The sound of the rain’s symphony

Lord, Your melody rains upon me

The most beautiful love song
